Jax Furniture Refinishing & Upholstery reupholstered my set of 8 dining room chairs. I’ve never been more thrilled with both the service and the workmanship from any shop—truly the very best experience I’ve ever had. The team was warm, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in going above and beyond for their customers. Initially, I spoke with Suzanne several times about my project. She was consistently helpful, cheerful, and a real pleasure to work with throughout the entire job. Suzanne promptly gave a written estimate, which was reasonable, and no additional amount was demanded at the end of the job. When I visited the shop to drop off and to pick up, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and Buddy, the shop’s cat full of personality. I also had the pleasure of meeting Bill and discovered (only after asking him) that he’s been working with furniture since the late 1970s. The level of expertise is evident in the finished product. The craftsmanship is nothing short of perfect. Even with the striped fabric I selected—which could easily reveal the slightest mistake—the results are flawless. The attention to detail and precision is extraordinary. The pattern lines up beautifully, creating a seamless, high-quality and elegant finish, as depicted in the PHOTOS. Not only does the new upholstery look fabulous, but the density and firmness of the foam and Dacron batting created very comfortable padding. It’s rare these days to find a business that combines outstanding skill, pride, and customer service like they do. So if you’re looking for top-tier furniture repair or reupholstery, this is the place. This shop—and the people in it—are an absolute gem. Thank you ALL!

From the very beginning, first contact, getting estimates to the e end, the person in charge, Suzanne was very responsive, attentive and she made the whole process very easy and pleasant. When I received my newly reupholstered bench, I was very impressed! The workmanship was excellent. They did a quality job! I am so glad I asked JAX Furniture to reupholster my bench. Suzanne was very responsive & professional, she gave great advice about the color of my table. She helped me find a glass shop to protect my table & a leather specialist to repair my couch at my house. The guys in the shop (shout-out to Joe!) brought my table back to life, & saved 3 heirloom kitchen chairs, he even made a piece to perfectly match the chairs that had been missing for years. Highly recommend, very fair, highly skilled, professional shop.

JAX Furniture Refinishing & Upholstering recently reupholstered an antique settee for us, inside and out. They did a beautiful job. We were very pleased.

This started as a DIY project with the purchase of a footstool from an Estate sale. I found the perfect fabric and started the deconstruction. I saw wonderful reviews of JAX Furniture online but I was so scared to drop off a family heirloom to have some much needed work done! They were so kind, honest, and upfront about everything, most importantly they did a phenomenal job. You can tell they take this work very seriously and understand they are working on very important and sentimental pieces! I will be going back with other pieces soon! — And so should you!

I had several pieces of antique solid wood furniture that were damaged when my home was destroyed when a giant oak tree fell directly on my home. These pieces were irreplaceable so I needed a place that would be able to restore them. Included among these pieces were a buffet, a 4 drawer cabinet, a secretary, coffee table, and a barrister’s cabinet. All sustained water or physical damage from the hurricane. I contacted Suzanne from Jax Furniture Refinishing, got an estimate of the work required, and scheduled a date for all of the pieces to be picked up. The pick up date ended up being on 1/31/2025. I received a call last week that everything was done and ready to be returned home. All 5 pieces were returned on 3/7/2025 and I have to say that my wife and I are very pleased with the results. All of the pieces had to be stripped, repairs made, and refinished. Everything looks as good as new. These pieces are at least 80+ years old as they were furniture from my grandparents in New York. I’m hoping that we’re able to enjoy them all for many more decades. If you’re in need of furniture repair or refinishing, I would strongly recommend that you consider Jax Furniture Refinishing to do the work. You’ll be very satisfied with the results by these craftspeople. We have additional pieces that require work, including two side chairs that need to be re-upholstered and once my wife and I decide on the fabric that will go on the chairs, we’ll be contacting Jax Furniture Refinishing.

I wasn’t sure how they would be able to repair my chairs broken leg from a recent move. I don’t know how they did it, but my chair’s leg, all of them look better than they ever have! This was pr of wingbacks belonged to my grandmother, so they are over 60 years old and just as beautiful as ever! I will always go to Jax Furniture to all my refinishing and upholstering needs. Plus. They are so professional and so friendly! Such a great experience!

This is the second time I’ve used Jax for reupholstering chairs. They did an excellent job, finding a creative solution for decorative piping to finish the look of my antique chair. Jax Furniture recovered this couch and 2 chairs. They did a fantastic job. The staff are super knowledgeable and helpful. I now am having them refinish 2 pieces of furniture. Will post photos of those when they are finished. Thank you, thank you!
