- Stripes and chevron – A striped pattern can fit into any style of decorating, especially when the color palette is adapted accordingly. Thin stripes in light or bright colors give a fresh and contemporary feel to a room, whereas dark stripes in a limited palette reflect a traditional or classic style. The “chevron” pattern is especially popular right now, and for those looking for cutting edge design style, chevron pattern does the trick!
- Bold patterns and large scale print – Bold patterns add drama to any room design, and can bring together as many or as few colors as you dream up for your favorite room in the house. Large scale prints make an artistic statement, and add a unique touch to any room. As a bonus, a large scale print can make an upholstered chair or sofa look larger than it actually is, but without crowding the room. Patterns and prints in dark colors are also great at hiding stains, and are therefore popular season after season.
- Neutral palette – Traditional beiges, grays, creams, and other neutral tones never go out of style. Add a little color to your neutral color upholstering by incorporating throw pillows or other details in bright colors, bold patterns, or any of the other hot trends listed above.
